What are essential oils?

Essential oils are extractions taken directly from the bark, flower, fruit, leaf, seed or root of a plant or tree making them completely natural. There are a few ways essential oils are created.

First is the process of distillation, which separates the oil and water-based compounds of a plant by steaming. Second is pressing them from the plant’s flesh, seeds, and skins which is a technique used mainly for citrus oils.

Each batch of Helias essential oil is approved and authenticated by our chemists and receives a certificate of authenticity for purity.

Helias essential oils are 100% pure and natural and we have a third party GC analysis for each of our oils on file to confirm that you are getting the purest oils on the market. A GC report is basically the same thing as a blood test for a human, it shows exactly what the essential oil is composed of at a molecular level so you know what you are buying is exactly what it says it is on the bottle. This is the only way you should be buying essential oils.

How do essential oils work?

Aromatically

Absorbed through lungs

Essential oils are absorbed into the bloodstream when inhaled. The large amount of blood vessels in the lungs absorb the oils and then circulate them throughout the body. Our diffuser is the perfect way to receive the full aromatic benefits of the oils.

Topically

Easily penetrates the skin

Essential oils have a very small chemical size which makes them excellent vessels. This means that essential oils are easily able to penetrate the skin and pass into the bloodstream and into different areas of the body for internal therapeutic benefits and external therapeutic benefits. This makes essential oils particularly beneficial to your skin and hair helping from the outside in.

Ways to use essential oils:

Skin

Use as a carrier oil with your favorite single oil or blend, adding a few drops of the essential oil in the carrier to unlock an array of benefits.

Hair Mask

Add 3-4 drops of select essential oils to you your favorite carrier oil for a great overnight hair mask.

Hair Wash

Add 1- 2 drops of select essential oils to your favorite shampoo to stimulate hair growth and prevent hair residue & buildup.

Shower

Drop 3-4 drops in a hot shower and let the aromatic steam absorb into skin.

Bath

Use 4-6 drops in a hot bath and breathe in the aromatic steam.

Massage

Use 1-2 drops in your favorite carrier oil for a great massage oil.
